  1. a pet turkey....do you take her to the movies on Thanksgiving to keep her away from all the bad news? Glad you liked my Henrietta story. Animals do make our lives soooo much better. Who says you can't buy love?

  2. It is so sweet that you have a pet turkey. I have never eaten turkey not even on the holidays. I am definitely an animal lover.

Where have all the Heirlooms gone?

I have asked myself this question many times in the past few months, and I honestly do not know the answer. But what I do know is that I can try my hardest to keep the ones we have left from joining the ones we have already lost. It is my goal this gardening season to grow as many heirloom variety fruits, vegatables and flowers as I possibly can and in turn, save as many of the seeds that I can while maintaining the purity of each variety. Am I an expert at this?.....Of course not, but maybe you should ask me that same question again in 10 years. OK, maybe 15 years...lol. And hopefully by that time, my children who will be in their teens, will know all that they need to know about their food: that they are heorloom varieties that have been grown organically for years and years by their parents and themselves!
